FAQWhy does the feather and down go to the end of my quilt? Usually it just means that your quilt needs a clean. Feather and down absorbs your body perspiration and over time (3-5 years) this causes the feather and down to curl up and therefore roll to the lowest part of the bed (the foot area). Proper rejuvenation re-opens the feather and down and helps resrict this movement. How do I store my feather and down quilts? Prior to storage of your feather and down quilt, please ensure you give it a good airing, (2-3 hours in the sunshine), to help disperse any excess persiration. Ideally then place it in a cotton storage bag or sheet to stop the built up of dust on the outer case. Do not roll too tightly as this could damage the feather and down. DO NOT store in a plastic or vacuum sealed bag - feather and down is a natural product that must breathe. Storing in any plastic will increase any perspiration damage that may occur. Why do some feather and down products have an odur? Products that have an 'odour' are made with fillings that have not been properly cleaned. Many companies simply spray chemicals into the feather and down and claim it is then 'hypoallergenic'. This is not the case. Dyne feather and down is sourced from Europe and is guaranteed sterilet to a minimum core temperature of 100 Celcius. Is there 100% down? There is no such thing as '100%' for any kind of down on the market- no matter what anybody tries to tell you. All down will have a small percentage of the very small neck feather that cannot be graded away from the downs. The down content of Dyne quilts is fully guaranteed. Are the squared (boxed) a good idea? NO! The majority of boxed quilts on the open market look fully squared but have filling gaps in each square approximately 2-4 cm wide. The feather and down will move through these gaps leaving the centre of your quilt empty but the sides very full. You also cannot adjust these quilts, so if you are too warm or too cold unfortunately you are stuck. Advantages of channel design quilts. The feather and down can be removed and rejuvenated correctly. Therefore if you purchase a quality duvet you should get a minimum 15-20 years of use. A channel design quilt can be utilised for many more months of the year compared to a squared quilt as the filling can be moved away from the body on warmer nights. We can also manufacture a quilt that has different warmth ratings on either side to cater for couples who sleep at different temperatures.
