The Dyne coppershield underlay is a quality product of wool and copper manufactured in Austria. The positive effects of wool and copper, if you suffer from arthritic or rheumatic aches and pains, are well known in Europe. Tests performed by the Federal Products Research Centre in Dornbin, Austria, have helped prove the health benefits of wool and copper.

Our Wool ’n’ Copper Underlay is constructed with two layers of carded wool with copper mesh in between, surrounded by 100% cotton tricot and stitched into squares to hold the wool pad gently in place.

The carded wool, unlike tufted wool, will not flatten or tangle, but will keep its depth and softness for many years. All processes used for carding the wool are totally chemical free.

The copper mesh inlay hinders the static electricity build-up that can disturb your sleep. Copper has also, for many years, assisted sufferers of rheumatism and arthritis, bringing natural relief.

The two layers of carded wool retain a comforting depth and softness for many years and allows moisture to leave your body, keeping you warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Wool produces a warm and dry micro-climate in bed. For this reason the German Rheumatism Relief Organisation recommends wool underlays to those people prone to illnesses stemming from the various forms of rheumatism.

The wool used is specifically selected from Merino quality French pure new wool exclusively from free-range sheep. This wool is graded according to colour, length, vegetable matter and fineness and is a long staple curly wool. 

To ensure your health is protected, the scouring process includes a careful washing at a maximum of 50° Celsius, using soda and a small amount of soap. This ensures the resident lanolin content is approximately 0.05%, so no unpleasant odours develop caused by body heat.
